Set in the San Jacinto Mountains, this celebration transformed a private, emotionally significant property built by socialite-philanthropist Valerie von Sobel to honor profound loss of her husband, son and mother in 1995, into a space filled with renewed joy.

The design wove Swiss Alps romance with Italian, Jewish, and African traditions: a candlelit ceremony under the stars and full moon, live art, a mille-feuille cake constructed by the bride and groom, pasta alla ruota, and a dance floor that never emptied under the night sky. Later, a mechanical bull and circus activities turned the mountainside into a playground. The night balanced elegance with play: a reminder that love can reshape every space it inherits.
